Creative Ways With Christmas Card Inserts
Hi everyone.
When I first opened my Melissa Lawrence Creative Etsy Shop in 2020, after two years, I'd only sold four items. As all my products are digital downloads and sell for around £2.20, minus all the fees that Etsy takes, I wasn't exactly hopeful that I'd ever make a success of it.
However, I didn't give up and so I was delighted when a few days ago, I received my first ever "Bestseller" badge from Etsy because one of my items has had a high volume of sales over the last six months. And yes, although it's taken a while, I'm selling an average of two items per day at the moment, rather than two per year!
The current "bestseller" item is my Christmas Card Inserts Digital Sheet.

This is an A4/US Letter Size jpg sheet, containing 10 different verses or short messages designed in different sizes, fonts and styles. Once you've purchased the item, you can download and print it out as many times as you like. There is enough space around each verse for you to be able to cut them out separately with scissors or a cutting machine, then attach them to the inside of your handmade Christmas cards.
But guess what? You don't just have to use my inserts for the inside of your Christmas cards. There are lots of other creative ways you can use them, too. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
on the front of a card
as a gift tag
on a festive junk journal page
for scrapbooking seasonal photos
as a tree decoration
to create a handmade gift
And just to prove it's possible, here are some examples of items I've created which I hope will inspire you to think outside the "Christmas" box when it comes to your Christmas card inserts.
TOP TIP: Because you can print out my sheet of inserts as many times as you like, or even just part of the sheet if you have access to editing software, don't feel you have to use the whole insert every time. You can cut out single words or short phrases if that suits your project better, as I've done on the right hand junk journal page.
I hope you have a great Christmas and you can find some time for crafting!
